  1. The ROM or firmware pack can be sourced from here: http://www.saroms.co.za/product/hurricane-swirl-romfirmware-pac/
  2. Download the SPD_Upgrade_Tool_R4.0.0001 from here: https://mega.nz/#!bZZUFRhQ!aXSEUrVos-jDYiw8O6MNvIvbZ-ia34QuoUmK2oLiqSo and extract it
  3. Install the Spreadtrum drivers as per the Guide here (ignore if already installed)
  4. Then open up the extracted SPD_Upgrade_Tool_R4.0.0001 folder twice > then double-click the file with a black chip and two green arrows icon
  5. With the flasher loaded > click on the gear icon on the far left > browse to and load the Hurricane Swirl .pac firmware file by double clicking on it - it can take up to a minute or two
  6. Click on the two gear icon > untick NV_W > click OK
  7. Then click the Play like icon (Start Downloading)
  8. Remove and replace the battery - then connect the Hurricane Swirl smartphone with volume down held/pressed down
  9. The downloading should start with a blue bar - at which stage you can release the volume down key > different partitioned will be flashed and you get a green 'Passed' when all is done
  10. At which stage click the Stop icon (Square)
  11. Disconnect and power up the device - remove and replace the battery and then power it on as normal
  12. It can take a little longer to boot up after a flash (no more than 5 minutes though)

If is should take longer than 5 minutes, then boot into recovery and wipe userdata and then reboot. Please kindly register/login and reply below to request further needed assistance on this particular issue.

Hi Kevin, look i tried flushing my Hurricane Swirl using the procedure you provided but the process stop immediately after it has started. It shows an error message "unplugged". Do you have any idea? Please let me know if there is any other Flush Tool that i can use. my email address: pietmokwena9@gmail.com

What windows version are you flashing from (it is possible that you have active Digital Signature Verifications activated if you have a 64 bits system)? Also, can you retry step 8 without holding any key during connection?

I am using Window 7 64bit operating system. What should be the position of the Digital Signature Verification? If i need to deactivate them, how should i go about doing that? Thank you for your time and consideration my friend.

I have disabled the Digital Driver Signature by using step 1 whereby I restarted my computer and went to advanced boot option and . I then checked manually to see if they are indeed disabled by  pressing Win + R to get in to Local Group Editor, went to code signing for device drivers and they are on Enabled and the other part is on ignored. I then run the software (SPD Upgrade Tool). The software status firstly indicate checking baudrate and after some few seconds it indicate unplugged then on the Progress part it wrote Failed: User cancel.  I tried it severally but same response. Any idea what could be the problem? I have even tried using the latest SPD Upgrade Tool R19.0.0001 but same results.

Noted but do you remember installing the drivers as per this guide: http://help.saroms.co.za/index.php?qa=498&qa_1=install-spreadtrum-serial-drivers-purpose-flashing-fimware ?

Hi Kervin and thanx for your efforts. Look the flush was successful and i disconnected the phone, took out the battery and replaced it then switched it on. It only came on and wrote Hurricane mobile but it never booted for more than 10 minutes. i then took out the battery and replaced it then booted it into recovery, cleared user data and rebooted it but same feedback.  i then tried to flush it again and set the flushing tool to format everything because i was of the view that maybe the new firmawre was written on the old one and thus corrupted it. So the process started well but it could not finish. See the screen print from the link i have created: https://mega.nz/#!WWAkHJTA!2VOcEi-WXc3kqJ1h7KICM10YoxAi06HJhABcxq98orQ

Sorry for the delayed reply. Try these one at a time. With the .pac ROM loaded to the flash tool, click the two gear iconed button > click Backup > remove all the check marks > click OK > retry flashing and obeserve. If that does not help, with the .pac ROM loaded to the flash tool, click the two gear iconed button > untick ProdNV > click OK > retry flashing
